Before we can sell wholesale to you, we need verification that you are a legitimate retailer. 

We require a copy of your resale permit for states that issue them, OR, a copy of your business license for states that do not...before we can sell to you.  We require this as proof of your legitimate business status and sales tax exemption to keep on-file for you, otherwise we will be held liable by the IRS for paying any sales tax.

LEAD TIMES on soap orders depend on order size....let us know your order, we'll give you an approximate time!   Our turn-around times are generally within 2-3 days, however they may be longer during holiday season or for very large orders.  We receive orders as small as the minimum order ($100.00) on up to several thousand lbs. of soap...so lead time is based on order size and commensurate handmade production time. Please inquire if you have a specific need-by date.  Thanks!

NOTE: Our bars are larger than most!
Our full-size bars are a generous 5.0 - 5.2 oz. at cutting and generally cure down to no less than 4.8 oz.  We label "4.5 oz." to stay on the safe side of required FDA weight listings. Bars measure approx. 3" x 3.5" x 13/16"-thick.

Please consider SIZE differential if comparing price points with other companies soaps.

Un-cut soap logs or bulk blocks that you can cut or package to your own specifications, at a per-bar savings!  Ideal for private labeling (see detailed info. below), slice-by-the-inch soap displays (one of the most popular ways retailers sell our soap!), & do-it-yourself packaging to dress-up or dress-down the soap for whatever image you want to project!  We provide you soap ingredients & proper labeling instructions for creating your own labels if private labeling.

CUSTOM SOAP (<-Click to go to more info.):
Minimum 11 lb. order on any custom soap, subject to consultation with the soapmaker re: feasibility of making any particular custom soap.  Some scents and colorants, for example, do not work well together or may present problems with a requested design. We charge an additional 5% fee on any custom scents we do not normally stock and have to special order.  Consultation fees apply for any inordinately large amounts of time required to help you plan/design custom orders.

SOAP CUTTERS
We offer bulk soap cutters for your convenience in making the mostof your soap purchase by cutting even and symmetrically sized bars!  Log cutters ($25.00 ea.) and Bar Cutters ($25.00 ea.) are of a wood design with a wirecutter (safer than a blade or miter box!) and slice one log or one bar at a time.  Cutters (scroll down for instructions) for photo tutorial on how-to-use!

WHOLESALE SAMPLE PACKS
Many of our new clients complain that they are overwhelmed with our many soap varieties and can’t decide WHICH to choose!  To help you sort out what may be your or your customer’s favorites, we offer you Sample Packs to try the soaps out, see, smell and feel them all before purchasing a lot of any one variety!  Sample Packs make it easy for you to give samples to friends, family, focus groups, or display to existing customers and assess their response!   These soaps come packed in cello bags (critical to keep all scents separated in shipping) and the name of the soap is hand-written on the bag for you to identify. We offer two different-sized Sample Packs to choose from:

Half-Bar Sample Pack - Contains a half bar of each of our Regular Soap Line soaps + our “What’s New!” soaps, currently a total of approx. 90 soaps!

Sample Pack soaps arrive with each soap packed in a clear cello bag, name written on bag, so all the soap scents arriving together do not blend and make it difficult for you to tell what soap smells like which scent.

PRIVATE LABELING INFO.

"Private labeling" is putting your label/logo/name on our soap.  We can assist you in providing proper labeling protocol (ingredients, etc.) as you design your label--we do not do the actual label design/production for you.  We tried doing this early-on in our business, but label design/production was quickly becoming a business unto itself!  However we encourage you to do your own designing--it's quite simple and actually quite fun!  There's a myriad of papers available to print your labels on either yourself on your computer, or to take a "master copy" to a printer to reproduce for you.  Wholesale paper houses (online or off) or stationery stores provide lots of great papers, textures, ideas!  You can easily and creatively design your label on your own computer!  This can save a lot of money rather than having a designer do it for you who might require minimums. Often times to get a good price on labels you need to order minimums of 1000 of each label.  Well, if you do this and later discover that a particular soap is not selling so well for you or your target market, you're now stuck with all those labels!  Starting out designing your own makes a lot of sense, especially until you establish a particular line that you know sells well for you, or that you want to make "regulars"!  Typically, soaps can be very seasonal---certain scents selling better with the change of seasons or holidays.  In short, flexibility in your label production can be a plus!

Simply line up a page in landscape orientation and you can usually fit 3-6 labels on one page (depending on how wide you choose to make them; ours are approx. 3 1/4" wide X 8 1/2" tall).  You can import your company logo as a graphic or any other copyright-free images and combine them with text.

PRODUCT LABELING REQUIREMENTS: 
- Name of the manufacturer (Simply Soap of San Diego, CA) or distributor (You) -You must list one or both so consumers have re-contact info.
- Address of manufacturer OR distributor (so consumer has a location to come back to if there is a problem)
- Phone number of distributor -YOU (unless it's listed in the book under the business/company name)
- What the product in the package contains (Example, “soap“.  Clearly use the word “soap“ on the label so the product cannot be confused with or mistaken for another type of product)
- Net weight of the product (and for soap, this means fully cured--if you label the soap at 3.5 oz and six months later it only weighs 3 oz, you are in violation).
- Not required, but we recommend using the disclaimers “For External Use Only” and “If irritation develops, discontinue use.”
*- FDA (Food & Drug Administration) & CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) does not even require the listing of ingredients on "true soap", which our products are!  However we strongly recommend that you do, as it is what is so special about our products--the pure and the all-natural or almost all-natural (for fragrance-scented soaps) ingredients!  In today's climate of consumers being very label savvy, they will often put back down a label that DOES NOT list ingredients, suspecting the worst!  So for traditional labeling regulations require that if you list soap ingredients from greatest to least....which we provide for you.  SEE OUR INGREDIENTS LISTING PER SOAP VARIETY  SHEETS (Will provide upon purchase of soap.)
- List bar weight.  Net weight 4.5 oz.” (per bar)  We cut our bars at 5.0+ ounces and they typically cure down to 4.8 oz., however we label at 4.5 oz to err on the side of correctness, as soap can continue to shrink slightly the older it gets.
- If you are Private Labeling your soap you must choose your own soap names and descriptions!  Do not copy or use our Simply Soap names and marketing descriptions, which constitutes copyright infringement!
- It is also extremely important that you do not make claims about the soap such as “is healing”, “will cure acne”, “removes wrinkles”, etc. in your labeling or marketing.  Unless you have clinical data to back up claims, do not make them!!!  These type claims would then also take the product out of the FDA’s “Soap” category put it in the “Cosmetic” or “Drug” categories with those associated labeling requirements.  Simply Soap is not liable for any claims you make about our soap!

We will provide you, upon ordering, a sample of one of our labels so you can assess
general format/content, however do not copy our labels exactly (design, soap names, & creative marketing description) as that would constitute copyright infringement.  Please be unique in your own label design.   I'd be happy to fax you a copy of one of our if you provide a fax #.  And enjoy making your labels--it's one of the most fun parts of marketing the product...creating your unique "look" and identity!  We also encourage our private label clients to be sure, if choosing a company name for the first time, to be sure it is not a name already in-use!!!  A good place to check is at the United States Patent and Trademark Office database for names that are already being used and/or are in the process of being trademarked:  www.uspto.gov.  The hassle, time and expense of having to change your name if you LATER find out you're in violation is certainly not worth it!  Take the time to check this out thoroughly!  With so many online businesses making their name global via internet reach, it doesn't take long for someone else to discover it if you're using THEIR name!  Also be sure to keep records of when you begin using your chosen name, including copies of transactions that are dated as they can prove your "first-use" if the need should arise.  For more info. on copyright and trademark, see our site:   COPYRIGHT/TM INFRINGEMENT PREVENTION
